The Ultimate Solution to ALL Derogatory Credit History

Bankruptcies

How long does a bankruptcy stay on a credit report?
Chapter 7 remains on a report for 10 years regardless of whether or not it is dismissed or discharged. Chapter 13 also remains for 10 years, but if dismissed will stay for 7.

What does it mean when a bankruptcy is discharged or dismissed?
The end of a bankruptcy case can end in two ways. Dismissal or Discharge.

A discharge means that you are legally free and clear of any obligation to repay certain debts. The creditor no longer has any right to collect that debt. The discharge gives the debtor a fresh start financially.

A dismissal means that the case is dismissed, the debts survive, and there is no fresh start for the debtor.

Can you permanently delete my bankruptcy?
Yes. We permanently delete Chapters 7, 13, and corporate chapter 11 bankruptcies from your credit report. It's important to understand that we are not removing bankruptcies from the actual court records, but from credit reports only. Fortunately, lenders do not research court records and will not know about your bankruptcy if it is not on your credit report.

Are all of the accounts that were listed in my bankruptcy included in the price to delete the bankruptcy itself?
No. These accounts are considered collection accounts and must be dealt with on an individual basis. Please see our Collections section for further information.

How long will it take to delete my bankruptcy?
On average it takes 10-12 business days per bankruptcy. Please see our "Timing" section in our Overview.
